Šárka Sobotovičová is a graduate of the School of Business Administration, Silesian University in Karviná where she also obtained her PhD degree in Business Economics and Management. She worked as a guarantor for the value-added tax in the Czech Tax Office.

She joined the School of Business Administration, Silesian University in Karviná in 2008 first as an external lecturer. In 2010, she became an assistant professor at the Department of Finance and Accounting.

She lectures in courses: Taxation and Tax Policy of the Czech Republic, Consumption Taxation, Property and Consumption Taxation, Indirect Taxes in the Czech Republic, Tax Administration and Tax Proceedings, Property Taxation, International Taxation and Tax Systems.
