Petra Růčková graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the VSB-Technical University in Ostrava (1994). At the VSB TU she defended her dissertation on “Financing the pension scheme”, and she obtained her Ph.D. (1999).

Since December 1994, she worked as an assistant professor and since 2017 she has worked as an associate professor at the School of Business Administration of Silesian University. In her scientific-research and publication activity she deals with issues of insurance and financial analysis. She lectures in courses: Insurance A, Financial Analysis and Planning, Corporate Finance A, Financial Planning and Budgeting and she leads seminars in the course Money, banks and financial markets.

She is a member of the Czech Economic Society.
